Rich Communication Services (RCS)
Rich Communication Services (RCS) is a modern messaging standard designed to replace traditional SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service). It enables richer features in the phone’s default messaging app, such as:
- High-quality photo and video sharing
- Read receipts (see when someone read your message)
- Typing indicators (see when someone is replying)
- Better group chats (naming, syncing members)
- Reactions with emojis
- Messaging over Wi-Fi or mobile data (not just the cellular SMS network)

RCS Campaign App
The RCS Campaign feature allows businesses to bulk send highly interactive and engaging messages to customers directly within their native mobile messaging apps.
Prerequisites
The following licences are required to access and use the RCS Campaign app.
Base License Requirement
- The organization must have the RCS Campaign base license.
User Permission Requirement
- Users managing campaigns must belong to the Campaign permission group.
- To assign the permission: Go to Manage Organization → Members tab → Select the User and grant Campaign permission under Permissions tab.
SMS Add-On License (for SMS Fallback)
- The SMS add-on license is required only if you want to use SMS fallback (when RCS is not available).
