Overview
In CPaaS platform, there are 2 types of numbers:
- Mobile number
- Fixed Line number
1. Mobile Number
Categories
There are 2 types of Mobile numbers (MSISDN):

Physical SIM:
- In this implementation, the subscriber will be using physical mobile equipment (cellphone, mobile phone, smartphone,..) that has either a physical SIM card or an e-SIM.

Virtual SIM:
- In this implementation, the subscriber will be using Apps ONLY for inbound and outbound calls.
- There is NO physical SIM provided to the subscriber.
In Singapore, it's usually starting with 8 or 9.
Terminologies
Term |
Definition |

MSISDN |
This refers to a number uniquely identifying a subscription in a Global System for mobile network. It’s the technical term for a Mobile Number. |
Physical SIM - SIM Card |
A SIM card is a chip that is physically installed or removed inside your phone with your carrier’s plan. |
Physical SIM - eSIM |
An eSIM is an embedded SIM that is built-in to your phone and downloads your carrier’s plan indirectly. |
Virtual SIM |
A Virtual SIM is a cloud-based mobile service number which can be used from any device using applications. Unlike the traditional SIM cards, virtual SIMs are not physically attached to a mobile. |
2. Fixed Line Number
Fixed Line numbers are the traditional Landline numbers.
In Singapore, it's usually starting with 6.
Configuration
Assign a number for User
In order to assign a number for a specific user, please follow the steps below:
- Go to Manage Organization, choose Licenses tab
- Select Phone System license
- Choose a particular User that you would like to assign a number
- At the Assigned Numbers section, click Manage
- Select a number from the available list
- Save
