Overview
Newsfeed is a broadcast channel feature built into the Unified Workspace portal. It enables organizations to publish and distribute posts — announcements, product updates, onboarding content, operational notices — to internal users and connected partner organizations.
Newsfeed is available to every organization at no additional cost. No add-on license is required.
Key capabilities:
- Create and manage Newsfeed channels
- Publish rich-text posts with images, videos, and file attachments
- Schedule posts for future publication
- Subscribe to channels across connected organizations
- Pin important posts for quick reference
- Comment on posts
Roles
Every Newsfeed channel has three distinct roles. A user holds exactly one role per channel.
| Role | Who | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Channel Owner | User who created the channel (or received ownership via transfer) | Full control — manage channel settings, publishers, subscribers, posts; archive; transfer ownership |
| Publisher | User granted access by the Channel Owner | Manage channel user list + create, edit, delete own posts |
| Subscriber | User who subscribed to the channel | View posts; bookmark; add, edit, delete own comments; receive notifications |
A Normal User (not yet a member of a channel) can browse the Discover page and subscribe to available channels.
1. Normal User — Getting Started
Homepage
When a user logs into the portal, the first screen shown is the Newsfeed homepage.
If the user has not subscribed to any channel:
- A curated grid of suggested Feed Channels is displayed, sourced from their organization and any connected organizations (if sharing is enabled).
- Each card shows the channel name, description, and a Subscribe button.
- Select Show more to see additional channels.

If the user has subscribed to one or more channels:
- The homepage displays the latest posts from subscribed channels, ordered by recency (one post per channel per batch to ensure variety).
- A Suggested feeds section appears below, with additional channels available to explore.
- Select Discover more to open the full discovery view.

Subscribing to a Channel
- On the homepage or Discover page, locate a channel.
- Select Subscribe.
- Posts from that channel will appear on the homepage feed.
To unsubscribe, open the channel and select Unsubscribe from the channel card.
Post Quick Actions
From the homepage feed or within a channel:
- Bookmark — save the post for quick reference
- Copy post link — copy a shareable link to the post
- View post — open the full post view

|---|---|
| Star feed | Mark the channel for quick access in the sidebar |
| Edit name and description | Update the channel title (max 250 characters) and description |
| Archive feed | Deactivate the channel. Archived channels are no longer active but remain accessible for reference |

- Select Add to open the publisher picker.
- Search by name and select users to add.
- Select Add to confirm.

To remove a subscriber, select the minus (−) icon next to their name in the Subscribers list.

3. Channel Owner and Publisher — Managing Posts

- Open a Newsfeed channel.
- Select Create a post.

- Search and select the specific channel members (across all roles (Owner, Publisher, and Subscriber), including users within your own organization and connected organizations)
you wish to notify for the "Send email notification to" field (Optional step) - Choose one of the following actions:
- Cancel — cancel post
- Save as Draft — saves the post without publishing. Visible only to Owner and Publishers.
- Schedule — set a future date and time for automatic publication.
- Post— publishes the post immediately to all subscribers.

System Behaviors to Note for Email Notification:

- No configuration required on the recipient side
